Rahul Gandhi is the Congress leader and has been representing the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency since 2019. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad seat by defeating Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate PP Suneer with a margin of 4,31,770 votes. However, Gandhi was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Smriti Zubin Irani from his family's stronghold Amethi with a margin of 55,120 votes in the 2019 polls. Rahul Gandhi won three consecutive elections from Amethi in 2004, 2009 and 2014. He defeated Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidates Chandra Parkash Mishra Matiyari and Asheesh Shukla in the 2004 and 2009 polls respectively from Amethi. Rahul Gandhi again won the Amethi constituency in 2014 by defeating Smriti Zubin Irani with a margin of 1,07,903 votes. Gandhi was the president of the Congress party from 2017 to 2019.

However, he underlined that it was important for all opposition parties to come together to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for him to become the PM.

The tweet in Hindi titled "Lights, Camera, Scam", alleges that in 2007 when Modi was the Gujarat Chief minister, IL&FS was given the 'GIFT CITY' project worth Rs 70,000 crore. Till date no work has been achieved under the plan.

The Prime Minister said the Congress' only agenda is to throw muck on others, spread lies and repeat them loudly and mislead people.
Gandhi said Modi gives a lot of speeches and added,"Spare some time to answer these questions. Give your clarification."
Chouhan added that the BJP makes policies for every section of the society. “We make right policies, with right intentions and deliver it to people so that change can be brought about in people’s lives. We don’t just talk of Made in…everywhere,” the MP CM tweeted.
The Congress chief also said that once his party comes to power at the Centre, changes would be made to GST to reduce rates on items.
