Om Prakash Dhankar is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the former Haryana Cabinet Minister in the Manohar Lal Khattar government. He held several ministries, including Agriculture, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries, Water Resources, Mines, and Geology, from 2014 to 2019. Dhankar was also the BJP Haryana state chief from 2020 to 2023. Dhankar won the Badli Assembly constituency in the 2014 Haryana state polls by defeating independent candidate Kuldeep Vats with a margin of 9,266 votes. However, he lost the 2019 Haryana Assembly polls to Vats by 11,245 votes. He is again contesting from the Badli constituency in the 2024 Haryana Assembly polls against Congress candidate Kuldeep Vats and Jannayak Janta Party's (JJP) Krishna Silana. Dhankar was defeated by Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections by 1,70,627 votes in Rohtak. Earlier, Dhankar lost the Dadri seat in the 2009 Haryana polls with just 3.21% votes received.
