Bihar's ruling JD(U) on Sunday received a shot in the arm with the merger of RLSP of Upendra Kushwaha, a former protege of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who came back under his wing nine years after having fallen apart.

It seems the RLSP has merged with the RJD. Now only former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha is left in the RLSP, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said.

Earlier on Monday, Nitish lost his cool after RJD MLC Subodh Rai interrupted Rural Development Minister Jayant Raj during question hour session.

The ruling Janata Dal (United) celebrated Nitish Kumar's birthday as 'Vikas Diwas' and put up banners and posters on the streets of Patna.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav interrupted Nitish Kumar on a number of occasions during his speech raising various issues.

All five MLAs of Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM in Bihar on Thursday met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna but dismissed speculations of political realignment.

Lalu Prasad Yadav was rushed to AIIMS in Delhi following deterioration in health. Lalu, 72, was undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.

Yadav tweeted (roughly translated from Hindi), "No one is safe under the adulterated Bihar government. MLAs and their families are being massacred in public. The Chief Minister and his deputies cannot go to sleep until they count 100-150 corpses per day in Bihar".
