Gadkari, who is helming Road Transport and Highways Ministry, also said that while many infrastructure projects in Afghanistan have been completed by India, some are yet to be completed.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday inaugurated a 3-km-long emergency landing strip on National Highway 925 for the IAF aircraft.   

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed a 3-km section of Satta-Gandhav stretch of NH-925A, as an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) for the Indian Air Force.

The parts of the 12 national highways that will be used as airstrips are being identified and prepared by the IAF.

 The Ministry of National Highways and Road Transport issued approval to include the ambitious Atal Progress-Way project of Madhya Pradesh in Bharat Mala Phase-I.

Earlier, on August 13, the prime minister, while addressing the Investor Summit in Gujarat via video conference, said that "Be it ethanol, hydrogen fuel or electric mobility, with these priorities of the government, active participation of the industry is very important."
