Prime Minister Narendra Modi held 'secret' meetings with senior BJP leaders Amit Shah and BL Santosh on Saturday and Sunday amid talks of Union Cabinet expansion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for BJP's performance in the Zila Panchayat Chairperson election saying the credit for BJP's victory goes to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The way Rahul Gandhi is behaving, it will not be an exaggeration to say that he is being used as a pawn by competing companies, said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

Addressing reporters on Friday night, he said when PM Modi was on a visit to the union territory for poll campaign in February, he did not respond to the plea of AINRC made at a public campaign for statehood for Puducherry.

He further stated how the prices have risen, "Mr Modi's government and LPG prices in 2020 to 2021, from Rs 594 in November 2020 to price as of July 1, 2021 Rs 834."

"On Doctors Day, my greetings to all doctors. India's strides in the world of medicine are commendable and have contributed to making our planet healthier," Modi tweeted

Speaking at a virtual event to mark the completion of six years of Digital India, Modi said India is also conscious of its responsibilities as a data powerhouse and noted that work is underway on all aspects of data protection.

His remarks came a day after petrol prices were hiked by 31 to 35 paise while diesel by 26 to 30 paise on June 29, taking the fuel prices across the country to a historic high.

The meeting is being held a week after Prime Minister Modi held meetings with ministers both Cabinet and Minister of State rank in different groups to review the performance of their respective ministries
