Rohit Sharma's 56-run knock followed by Axar Patel's three-wicket haul helped India defeat New Zealand by 73 runs in the third and final T20I here at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

The 29-year-old Santner, who has taken 41 wickets in 23 Tests, is currently with the Black Caps squad in England for a two-Test series.

The three will, however, be accompanied by the likes of Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan and Imran Tahir, who are all expected to be part of IPL 2020. 

Santner is excited at the prospect of playing in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League and IPL after the long coronavirus-enforced break.

Mitchell Santner said that his stint with CSK also helped him adapt to various conditions.

The New Zealander, who played just four matches in IPL 2019, said that he is trying to pick Dhoni's calm and composed approach during matches. 

The CSK captain had meanwhile escaped the ban and was left with a 50 per cent fine on his match fees, but many former cricketers criticised him for his conduct.

BJ Watling scored 207 off 473 balls, hitting 24 fours and a six against England on day four of the first Test.

Poor catching and a batting collapse cost England dearly as the visitors could only make 144 in their chase of 177 in Wellington in the second T20I of the five-match series.

Mitchell Santner, who played his most recent Test against the West Indies in December 2017, missed most of last year with a knee injury.

Mitchell Santner said that New Zealand need to take wickets in the middle-overs and play aggressive cricket to beat India in the last two ODIs.

Santner also feels the two teams could take momentum from the series before heading into the 2019 World Cup, which starts in England at the end of May.

Mitchell Santner was picked up by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 50 lakh in this year's IPL auctions.

The Kiwi spinner added that he is looking forward to joining the team and playing alongside experienced players like Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and others.
