Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's brother Tassaduq Hussain Mufti on Friday met her at the government guest house here where she has been kept under detention, party sources said.

People's Democratic Party (PDP) delegation will not meet their leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday (October 7).

The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija to travel to Srinagar to meet her mother, who is in under detention for over a month after abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's mother and sister Rubya Sayeed met her on Thursday at Chashmashahi Resort, where she has been kept under detention.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik told Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah about the possibility of shifting them to their respective residences, sources said.

On joining the BJP from the Mehbooba Mufti's PDP, Haji Anayat Ali, Chairman, J&K legislative council, said on Monday, "In two years, you will see the change.

The government wants to release the mainstream leaders and allow them to reach out to their party workers, but it does not want them to issue any statements or indulge in activities that would aggravate the situation in the Valley. 

Iltija said that her mother Mehbooba was detained, along with scores of other elected representatives, the very same day and it has been over 10 "long agonising days since this crippling curfew was imposed".

It was a quiet, lonely Eid for former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on Monday, quite unlike previous years when their homes were full of celebratory crowds of supporters, friends and family members, officials said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday proposed to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir and said the state would be split into two Union Territories: Jammu and Kashmir with an Assembly and Ladakh without one.
