Kumari Mayawati, also known as Mayawati, is a renowned Indian politician who has been serving the nation in this field for over a decade. 65-year-old, Mayawati is the national president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Mayawati is considered as an icon among the Dalits and is popularly hailed as “Behenji” or sister. Mayawati has been an important member of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) since its inception in 1984 and is now serving as the president of the party. Thereafter, Mayawati did her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Delhi University in 1983. The Bahujan Samaj Party will fight the 2022 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh alone. In wake of a Supreme Court order cancelling allotment of government residences to Uttar Pradesh's former Chief Ministers, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati vacated her palatial official bungalow on Wednesday, her aide announced.
She said the stand of the party while entering into any alliance in any election has been to get a respectable share of the seats to contest. Otherwise, it sees fighting on its own as a better option, she said.
The BSP chief also announced changes in the party constitution, which bar her brother from continuing as its vice president while letting her remain the national president till she is too old for that responsibility.
