Congress party on Thursday came out all guns blazing against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and said the present government was trying to take benefit out of the Surgical Strike by the Army and convert it into vote bank.

Hitting back at the Congress leader for his remarks against BJP, Rijiju today claimed that while Saradar Vallabh Bhai Patel solved problems of all other states, Kashmir fell into trouble after Rahul Gandhi's grandfather Jawahar Lal Nehru took over.

Asked about the release of Hafiz Saeed, Kiren Rijiju said, "It is a matter of concern for us. We have been putting pressure on Pakistan in a bilateral way as well as through multilateral forums."

Kiren Rijiju said that India believed in keeping friendly relations with its neighbours and was approaching with "the correct policy" in the north-east.

Kiren Rijiju's comments came two days after UN human Rights Chief Zeid Ra'ad al-Hussein flayed any attempts by India to deport Rohingyas to Myanmar.

Rijiju said that since Rohingyas are not legal immigrants, they stand to be deported.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju also said that any particular community cannot be “branded” for having alleged links with terrorists and terrorism.
