Javed Akhtar had moved a plea before a court seeking the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in a criminal defamation case filed by him against her. The application, moved by Akhtar's lawyer Jay Bharadwaj, listed the number of exemptions Ranaut has sought. It also mentioned she was making "false and incorrect statements" before the court.

Kangana Ranaut's review application, filed before the Borivali sessions court through advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, said the CMM failed to appreciate that the magistrate had "misused" his powers to cause intentional injury to the applicant (her case).

Kangana Ranaut's petition, filed last month through advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, contended that her post was misconstrued and she had no intention of hurting the Sikh community's sentiments. The post was not against farmers but against a banned organization, and it was within her fundamental right to free speech, the actress said in a plea.

The Indian Air Force confirmed the tragic death of Rawat, his wife, and 11 other occupants of the force. A total of 13 of the 14 occupants of an IAF military helicopter (Mi-17V5) passed away after it crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri district. The plea filed through advocate Anil Kumar stated that the Union Home Ministry and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India are required to be directed by the Court to take certain prohibitions and preventive measures on social media posts of Kangana Ranaut. None of her posts on social media should be allowed without amendment, deletion, modification or censoring in order to maintain law and order in the Country, stated the plea.   

After Kangana Ranaut filed an FIR against those who allegedly gave her death threats, she also requested interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi to direct the Punjab government to take action in this regard. She said, "You (Sonia Gandhi) are also a woman, your mother-in-law Indira Gandhi ji fought strongly against this terrorism till the last moment."
