Harsh Sanghvi is the current Home Minister of Gujarat. Besides, he also holds eight other portfolios including, disaster management and police housing; MoS in sports, youth and cultural activities, NRI, excise and prohibition, border security and prisons. Sanghvi was also the youngest MLA of Gujarat when he was elected for the first time at the age of 27 from the Majura constituency. In 2017, he was appointed as the National Vice President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha. He is considered one of the most popular young leaders within the Gujarat BJP. His popularity rose drastically after his work as an MLA during the Covid pandemic, his decision to organise job fairs for unemployed youths and to set up book banks in his constituency Surat, and also his work in tribal areas. Sanghvi was born on January 8, 1985, to a Gujarati Baniya family. He is also regarded as one of the trusted lieutenants of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and current BJP state president CR Patil.
