Mrunal Thakur is making her official Telugu debut with 'Lieutenant Ram' opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Helmed by Hanu Raghavapudi, it is Dulquer's second film in Telugu after the 2018 runway hit, Mahanati. Presented by Vyjayanthi Movies, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt are bankrolling the project. Vishal Chandrasekhar is the music composer.

'Hey Sinamika' trailer takes us into the lives of Mouna (Aditi), a weather scientist who falls in love with Yaazhan (Dulquer), a quirky and loving guy. What happens to their relationship after a couple of years and how things take an unexpected turn after the arrival of Malarvizhi (Kajal) forms the crux of the story.  

Brinda, who considers filmmaker Mani Ratnam her guru, had choreographed a song titled 'Aye Sinamika' for his film 'OK Kanmani'. Fortunately, the director says that by a strange stroke of coincidence, the word 'Sinamika' also means 'angry girls' and that fit perfectly with the film's plotline.

"I have just tested positive for Covid19. I’m isolating at home and have mild flu symptoms but (I) am otherwise ok. People who were in close contact with me during the shoots over the last few days, please isolate and test if you notice symptoms," Dulqueer Salmaan tweeted.

Dulquer Salman plays the role of Sukumara Kurup in the movie. An NRI, Kurup had allegedly murdered a film's representative, Chacko, who was waiting for a late-night bus at Karuvatta in Alappuzha district, after giving him a lift in his Ambassador car. Later, the car was doused in petrol and Chacko's body was also burnt.

Kurup, according to police was influenced by a German crime novel and tried to script his own death to get the insurance claim. The claim was for Rs 8,00,000 and Kurup killed Chacko, a film representative after giving him a lift in his car while Chacko was waiting for a bus late at night. Sukumara Kurup has reportedly fled abroad while his two associates - driver Ponnappan and brother-in-law Bhaskara Pillai were sentenced to life imprisonment.
