Dr Mahendra Singh is a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is an incumbent Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of Uttar Pradesh since 2012. Dr Mahendra Singh is the BJP's state in-charge for Assam. In 2016, Singh credited with the huge success of the saffron party in Assam Legislative Assembly election. Currently, he is a Cabinet Minister in Ministry of Jal Shakti of the Uttar Pradesh government. Before August 22, 2019, he was the Minister of State (Independent Charge). Singh was promoted as a Cabinet Minister after winning 12 consecutive awards by the Union Government in various departments including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Online Transparent Transfer Mechanism for Rural Development Department Employees (In-house, Rural Development Department developed by UPSRLM). Dr. Mahendra Singh has also started online transparent posting for newly joining AEs in Irrigation and Minor Irrigation Department. Dr Mahendra Singh is a politician as well as a lawyer. He was born in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Ramdas Singh. He has a doctorate degree. In 1992, Singh did his graduation from Lucknow University. After this, Dr Mahendra Singh did his post-graduation in the year 1995. In 2003, he completed his PhD.
