Brijmohan Agrawal is the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) senior leader in Chhattisgarh. He is facing Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay from the Raipur Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 elections. He is currently a member of the Chhattisgarh Assembly from the Raipur City South constituency. Agarwal won the constituency four times in a row by defeating Congress candidates in 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023. Earlier, Agarwal represented the Raipur Town seat in 1990, 1993, 1998 and 2003. In 2003, he became the Minister for Home, Prison, Culture and Tourism in the first Raman Singh Cabinet. He also became the Minister for Revenue, Culture and Tourism, Law and Rehabilitation, Forest, Sports and Youth Affairs. Later, Agarwal was again inducted into the second Raman Singh Cabinet and became the Minister for PWD, School Education, Tourism, Culture and Religious Trust, Parliamentary Affairs and Endowment Department. Agarwal was given charge of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fishery, Water Resources, Ayakt, Religious Trusts and Endowment portfolios in the third Raman Singh government from 2013 to 2018. He was also the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Local Administration, Urban Development, Tourism and Culture, Science, and Technology in the Sunder Lal Patwa Ministry in Madhya Pradesh from 1990 to 1992. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh Assembly Election, Agarwal defeated Congress candidate Kanhaiya Agrawal by 17,496 votes from Raipur City South. In the 2023 Chhattisgarh Assembly Election, Agarwal defeated Congress candidate Mahant Ram Sundar Das from the Raipur City South constituency with a margin of 67,719 votes.

Raipur City South Assembly Elections Result 2023: BJP's Brijmohan Agarwal won this seat by securing more than 1 lakh votes and defeating Congress' Mahant Ramsundar Das. While Agarwal secured 1,09,263 votes, Das on the other hand secured 41,544 votes.
