Babul Supriyo is an indian playback singer , actor , live performer ,television host. He worked as a playback singer in Hindi Cinema in the mid-nineties. He is a member of parliament from Asansol. He made his entry in politics with joining Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in March , 2014. He was fielded and won the 2014 lok sabha election as Bhartiya Janta Party candiadte for member of parliament in lok sabha from Asansol , West Bengal defeating Dola sen . He served as the Union minister of state , ministry of urban Development and Ministery of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation till 12 july 2016. Currently , he is serving as the Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public enterprises . He is an admirer of Atal Bihari Bajpayee and Narendra Modi . Early Life :He was born and brought in Uttarpara , a small town on the banks of Hoogly river in West Bengal . He comes from a musical background family .
