Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan, who was recently made to apologise for his derogatory behaviour towards a presiding officer in the Lok Sabha, was rusticated from the Aligarh Muslim University in 1975 for allegedly misbehaving with a woman.

As many as 27 FIRs have been lodged against Samajwadi Party leader and Lok Sabha MP Azam Khan in the last one month on the allegation that he grabbed farmers' land for his university in Rampur, police said.

Akash Saxena has claimed in his complaint that the Samajwadi Party leader has mentioned different birth dates in education certificates and the passport documents.

Azam Khan has been in news for 26 FIR's registered against him for illegally grabbing the government land or lands of farmers in Rampur. In most of the cases registered against him, there is no record of land dealings and no documents either.

The ED filed its case under the criminal section of Prevention Money Laundering Act (PMLA) taking cognisance of at least 26 FIRs registered against Khan by the UP police for alleged land grab.

The district administration has imposed the prohibitory orders in Rampur and the party MP ST Hasan and former MP Dharmendra Yadav were taken into custody for violating Section 144.

SP leaders, led by state party President Naresh Uttam, reached the Raj Bhavan and staged a demonstration when they were not allowed entry. They demanded to meet Governor Anandiben Patel but were denied entry because they had not sought any appointment.

First it was land grabbing, then lion statues and now books. Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Mohammad Azam Khan has now been charged with the theft of about 2,000 books and manuscripts.

Abdullah Azam, son of Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan has been arrested. According to reports, police have arrested Abdullah Azam from Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, for obstructing police raids at Jauhar University. Abdullah Azam was also accused of furnishing false information in his passport.

Sources in the police said that apprehending arrest, Azam Khan has not visited Rampur for the past one month. "For the first time in the recent years, Azam Khan has not been seen in his constituency for so many days, " said a police official .

Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday came in defence of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, whose sexist remark against Lok Sabha deputy speaker Rama Devi Rama Devi inside Parliament irked widespread criticism. "When brother, sister meet they kiss, is it equal to sex? Mother kisses son, son kisses mother, is it sex?" Jitan Ram Manjhi told ANI.

Citing another example, they said BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh, another serial offender, had in 2015 said that if Rajiv Gandhi had married a Nigerian woman, and if she did not have fair skin, the Congress party would not have accepted her as its leader.

Stating that Azam Khan is infamous for his controversial statements, Sangeet Som said the Samajwadi Party MP should remember that it is the BJP which is in power in Uttar Pradesh as well as the Centre. Azam Khan will be suspended from the Lok Sabha and jailed soon, Som said.

BJP MP Rama Devi has said that Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan should be suspended from Lok Saba for five years and a mere apology from him for his remarks against her will not do. 

Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday slammed Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan for making objectionable comment against Lok Sabha Deputy Chairman Rama Devi saying he suffers from "mental perversion" and deserves a stringent punishment to preserve the dignity.  

Lok Sabha witnessed uproar on Friday over Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan's sexist remark against BJP legislator Rama Devi. Slamming Khan, Union Minister Smriti Irani during the Zero Hour, warned him and said that he can't misbehave with a woman and get away, regardless of a party she belongs to, cannot be insulted.

​The troubles for Uttar Pradesh's Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in the Maulana Jauhar University case are increasing by the day. Not only will a part of the building be demolished but Khan has also been fined Rs 3.27 crore.  

In the mid of a discussion and out of nowhere, maybe, Azam Khan had said to Rama Devi: "Aap mujhe itni achchhi lagti hain ki mann chahta aapki aankhon mein dekhta rahoon. [I like you so much, Rama Devi that I want to look into eyes for eternity]"

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed unruly scenes as opposition Samajwadi Party charged the state government with attempts to frame its leader Azam Khan in land grabbing cases in Rampur. 

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan landed himself in controversy on Saturday after he commented on the latest incidents of mob lynching. Muslims are paying the price of choosing to stay in India post the partition in 1947, Azam Khan said. Azam Khan's statement came in the view of Friday's mob lynching incident in Bihar wherein 3 people had lost their lives.
