Ashok Gehlot is the 15th chief minister of Rajasthan. Earlier, two-time Rajasthan Chief Minister, Gehlot represents Sardarpura constituency in the 200-seat Rajasthan Assembly. He contested 2018 Rajasthan Assembly election against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Shambhu Singh. Born on May 3, 1951, Gehlot has served as Rajasthan CM from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2008 to 2013. A science and law graduate, Ashok Gehlot also holds an MA degree in Economics. Gehlot has also served as Union Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation from September 1982 to February 1984. Gehlot is one of the few leaders who have worked under three PMs - Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao.

Narrating the incident, complainant Sushil Patil said that a Gujarat Congress worker Sachin Valre assured him in 2018 that he is close to Ashok Gehlot and manages government contracts given by the state government.
Gehlot remarks came after Sibal triggered a row with his comments that the Gandhis should step aside and give other leaders a chance to lead the Congress.
The case was filed on the complaint of Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Last year, all the 200 MLAs were presented iPads along with a copy of the budget by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Presenting the state budget, Gehlot said, "Domestic consumers spending up to 100 units of electricity will be given 50 units free, Rs 3 per unit grant for all domestic consumers spending up to 150 units and Rs 2 per unit grant for consumers spending 150 to 200 units. Around Rs 4,000 crore will be spent on this."
In his Budget speech, Gehlot said works related to Navnera-Galwa-Bisalpur-Isarda link, Mahalpur barrage and Ramgarh barrage with a cost of Rs 9,600 crore are proposed to be taken up under ERCP next year.
Presenting his government's budget, Ashok Gehlot said that candidates who have earlier appeared for REET will not be charged with examination fees.

The chief minister said the amendment to Rule 6 of IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954, will enable the Union govt call an officer on deputation without the consent of officer concerned and the state govt.

The chief minister said that his government in the last 35 months has worked to deliver transparent, sensible and good governance and had taken the state forward on the path of development, despite adverse circumstances.
Pilot also expressed his satisfaction over the move and stated that the inclusion of four Dalit ministers in the Cabinet has sent out a positive message about the party and the state government.
