Written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Zee Studios, 'The Kashmir Files' depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir following systematic killings of people from the community by Pakistan-backed terrorists. Anupam Kher plays the lead in the film.

The Kashmir Files continues its upward trajectory at the box office going into the second weekend. It is reported that the movie did a business of Rs 20 crore plus on Holi. Going into Saturday and Sunday, the prospects are looking even better.

The film was produced and released to "cover up and divert the injustice done to the people of Kashmir" and to distort the unsubstantiated slanderous allegations that the Pandits who lived like brothers and with the Muslims in that state were tortured, he alleged.
