Anupam Kher took to his Twitter to raise a query regarding 'The Accidental Prime Minister' trailer that was rending on No. 1 a few days ago but is now not appearing even when searched.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Sunday alleged the BJP's "promotion" of the biopic 'The Accidental Prime Minister' is a mere political stunt by the party and a "desperate" effort to undermine the Congress ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Anupam Kher also revealed that how he learned to stay grounded and humble from Amitabh Bachchan.

Anupam Kher, who plays the character of Manmohan Singh, said that he worked very hard for his role in the film.

While many Congress members found the film objectionable, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) promoted its trailer on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said fake propaganda by the BJP would not desist his party from questioning the ruling dispensation on important issues.

Anupam Kher, who plays Manmohan Singh in the Vijay Gutte directed movie, said the film is being released only after getting permission from the Censor Board.

The Accidental Prime Minister is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru.

Directed by debutant Vijay Gutte and written by Hansal Mehta, the flick is set to hit the cinemas on January 11, 2019.
