May it be a comic role, a serious role or a role of a villain, if any actor in Bollywood can nail any given character in a film, then it is none other than the veteran Anupam Kher.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who is gearing up for the second season of "New Amsterdam", says being a part of the medical drama broadens his horizons.

According to the viewers at the Hind Cinema near central Kolkata's Chandni Chowk area, the show was cancelled after screening for just 10 minutes on its opening day.

"The authenticity should be there in the story, in the essence of the character... the visual presentation can be entertaining. At the end of the day, we make cinema to entertain people," he said. 

Shekhar Kapur, Divya Dutta and others lauded Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna's performance in The Accidental Prime Minister.

Mahesh Bhatt reacted to the ongoing controversy of "The Accidental Prime Minister" and said that human beings have the right to join the narrative which already exists in the public domain.

The complainant had alleged that he felt hurt upon watching the promos of the movie, scheduled for release on January 11, wherein the public figures were portrayed in a manner that projected a poor image of the country.

The Accidental Prime Minister is slated to release on January 11.

The Accidental Prime Minister is based on a similarly titled the book by Sanjaya Baru, the former media advisor of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Anupam told IANS: "Look, when the audience is going to the theatre to watch a film, they are regular cine-goers and movie lovers."

Ojha in his petition complained that Anupam Kher and Akshay Khanna have damaged the image of both of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh and Sanjay Baru.
