Questioning the motives of Amit Shah's meeting with NDA allies after consecutive poll losses, Shiv Sena mouthpiece clarified that the party is determined to fight 2019 Lok Sabha polls alone.

BJP chief Amit Shah has been meeting with several social and political bigwigs to reinvigorate public support for BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The tomorrow's meeting between Shah and Thackeray is being viewed as significant as it comes days after the two bickering allies contested the Palghar bypolls separately.

"We have zero tolerance for national security. The maximum number of militants have been killed in the state in last four years of our government. War with Pakistan is the last option," Amit Shah said.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi as part of 4-year anniversary celebrations of the Modi government, Amit Shah said that politics of performance was at the core of BJP's policies

"On this day in 2014, we began our journey of working towards India’s transformation. Over the last four years, development has become a vibrant mass movement, with every citizen feeling involved in India's growth trajectory. 125 crore Indians are taking India to great heights!," he tweeted on Saturday.

The BJP chief said it did not want to give up its alliance with old time ally Shiv Sena in Maharashtra but insisted that the BJP would have no option if the Sena wanted to part ways with it.

Amid the “crisis situation” created by rising fuel prices, BJP President Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Centre taking the issue of oil prices seriously, and that it is working out on a formula to reduce the rates.

Addressing his first press conference after BS Yeddyurappa resigned before floor test last week, Amit Shah said the Congress has found a new way of portraying defeat as its victory.

The Congress has no right to preach about Constitution and Democracy. It is the same party which banned the media during emergency. We snatched 14 states from them, but they are celebrating our defeats in a few bypolls.

Addressing a press conference on the issue, Sitharaman claimed that Chidambaram didn't disclose its investments to tax authority, violating Black Money Law, which was brought by Modi govt as part of its drive against black money and to prosecute those Indians who have secretly stashed illicit wealth abroad. 

Shouting slogans, Telugu Desam Party activists demanded that the Centre immediately fulfill all promises made to Andhra Pradesh in the Reorganisation Act, 2014, and also accord special category status for the state.

On the last day of campaigning, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are expected to go full throttle with extensive electioneering powered by a war of words.

"No ways, there will not be a hung assembly in Karnataka," Shah said, adding, "we will win with comfortable majority and form government."  

Amit Shah also accused Congress of involving Pakistan everywhere, from Gujarat to Karnataka polls.

Referring to the acquittal of Swami Aseemanand and four other accused in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case, Amit Shah recalled how Congress and Rahul Gandhi had repeatedly mentioned “Hindu terror” in in the 2014 elections.

Speaking infront of a handsome crowd, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of being "hollow" and speaking "lies" and said the "chowkidar" was silent on issues concerning judiciary, women's safety, Dalits, youth, farmers besides corruption.

Polling will be held in a single phase on May 12 for 224 assembly seats, including 36 reserved for the Scheduled Castes and 15 for the Scheduled Tribes. Votes will be counted on May 15.

The BJP has fielded G Somashekhara Reddy in Ballari city, and his elder brother and former Ballari Lok Sabha member G Karunakara Reddy in Harappanahalli in Davanagere district.
