Every year, the Raising Day of NSG is celebrated on Oct 16. This year marks the 37th anniversary of establishment of NSG, popularly known as Black Cats.

Referring to the 2016 surgical strike, Amit Shah said India, through military action, sent across a strong message to the entire world that no one can interfere with its borders.

Addressing a function after laying the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) at Dharbandora village in South Goa, he also said that chartered flights will start arriving in the tourism-dependent state from November 15.

Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of the NFSU at Dharbandora in South Goa at 1 pm. After that, he will address a public meeting.

The Punjab government took strong exception to the Centre's reported move of empowering the BSF to carry out searches and make arrests up to an area of 50 km from the international border.

The BJP has also not divulged what the PPS will be - a separate state, a union territory or any other form of administrative arrangement.

Earlier in the day, Home Minister Amit Shah held an hour-long meeting with Power Minister, Coal Minister, and other officials over possible coal shortage and power crisis concerns.

A high-level meeting over coal crisis is underway in Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Power minister, other officials from coal ministry are present in the meeting.

Amit Shah said that Modi works for the poor, while the opposition sits in power by making discontent inside the political capital.

Earlier in September, the Haryana government formed a special committee to talk with the farmers, who are protesting against the three farm laws, for removing the blockade at National Highway-44 at the Singhu border.

The meeting will take place soon after the Home Minister returns to the national capital from Gujarat where he went on the one-day trip on Friday linked to some official and party matters. 

Addressing a function at Pansar in Gandhinagar district, Amit Shah said no other leader in the world has achieved the feat of getting elected continuously for 20 years.

In the evening, the BJP leader will reach his native town Mansa in Gandhinagar district and visit a government-run hospital.

Modi served as Gujarat CM between 2001 and 2014.

According to sources, earlier it was only CM Charanjit Singh Channi who had left for Delhi, however, his chopper was made to land in Chandigarh airport where Working President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Kuljit Nagra and Congress MP from Ludhiana, who is in the race for the post of new Punjab Congress President Ravneet Singh Bittu along with Channi boarded a chartered plane to Delhi.

Amit Shah also welcomed cycle rallies of CAPFs, which started from different parts of India, such as Dandi, North East and Leh to Kanyakumari, and concluded at Rajghat in the national capital.

While praising Shah on the one hand, Singh also took a dig at the RSS, saying that it is not a registered body.

Goa Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in 2022. Previously, the Goa Legislative Assembly election was held in Feb 2017. 

Amarinder Singh is in Delhi for the last two days and his meeting with Amit Shah has added another dimension to Punjab politics.

Amarinder Singh is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today amid speculations that he could join the BJP.
