Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day Assam visit, to attend Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government's first anniversary celebrations, and travel to the India-Bangladesh border.

Speaking after inaugurating the office building of the Directorate of Census Operations (Assam), Union Home Minister Amit Shah stressed the importance of proper enumeration for better planning of the country's development.

On Tuesday, Amit Shah will present the 'President's Colour' to Assam Police at a ceremony in Guwahati, and also interact with the officers and personnel of the force.

Asked about the dinner meet-up, Ganguly who is also the BCCI chief, told reporters that though there was a lot of speculation, the dinner was because he had known Shah for long.
