JKAP (Chanapora)

Altaf Bukhari is the president of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) and the former Jammu and Kashmir minister. Bukhari, who was with the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP), won the Amira Kadal constituency in the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections by defeating Nasir Aslam Wani of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) with a margin of 5,341 votes. Bukhari held several ministries, including Finance, Labour and Employment, Education, Floriculture, Gardens and Parks, and Roads and Buildings, in the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti governments in Jammu and Kashmir. Bukhari formed the JKAP in 2020 after being expelled from the JKPDP. He is contesting as a JKAP candidate from Chanapora in the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Apni Party releases fresh list of candidates for J-K polls, Altaf Bukhari to contest from Chanapora

The polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases with the first phase of polling on September 18, followed by September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 4.
