Box Office Report: Akshay Kumar starrer ' Bachchhan Paandey' faced a tough fight from 'The Kashmir Files' but managed to rake in Rs 13.25 crore on its opening day. However, the second-day collections dropped because the audience preferred Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's film based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s.

The Kashmir Files continues its upward trajectory at the box office going into the second weekend. It is reported that the movie did a business of Rs 20 crore plus on Holi. Going into Saturday and Sunday, the prospects are looking even better.

On the day of Holi, action-comedy Bachchhan Paandey has earned Rs 13.25 crore despite strong opposition from The Kashmir Files. This is good news for Bollywood as the theatrical business is back on track after COVID-19 pandemic.

Bachchhan Paandey is set to suffer because of the sleeper hit The Kashmir Files. It is expected to do double-digit figures on opening day but the collections will be drastically lower than Akshay Kumar's last release Sooryavanshi.

As The Kashmir Files continues its historic run at the box office and has minted Rs 97.30 crore collections in the first week, Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon's Bachchhan Paandey, releasing on March 18, will have to brace for a very intense battle.

Akshay Kumar got emotional remembering his late father on The Kapil Sharma Show, where he arrived for the promotions of upcoming release Bachchhan Paandey, co-starring Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez. 

"Nowadays, in cinema martial artists have found a new place of respect because of Akshay (Kumar) sir. My show would have been incomplete without his presence," Vidyut Jammwal said.

Akshay Kumar has confirmed that his web series debut The End did not have a 'satisfactory screenplay' due to which it has been delayed till next year. It was officially announced in March 2019 and had a multi-series order from Amazon Prime Video.

For the unversed, there were rumours that Akshay Kumar will not be shooting for The Kapil Sharma Show to promote his film Bachchhan Paandey. Directed by Farhad Samji the film which stars  Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez is set to release on March 18th.
