Akshay Kumar's historical drama Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life story of brave and mighty king Prithviraj Chauhan. Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar is making her Hindi film debut with the movie, in the role of Sanyogita.

'Samrat Prithviraj' is based on the life and valour of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay is essaying the role of the legendary warrior who fought valiantly to protect India from the merciless invader Muhammad of Ghor in this visual spectacle.

After a ban in Kuwait and Oman, now another Islamic country, Qatar, has put the film's release on hold. Indians living in these countries won't be able to see the film and that's really unfortunate.

"Samrat Prithviraj", which is all set to release in theatres countrywide on June 3, depicts the life of legendary warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan, played by Kumar. Chillar stars in the movie as Princess Sanyogita.

Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj': "The film is caste neutral and the intention is to showcase the titular character as an Indian King. There is no mention of King Prithviraj belonging either to the Rajput community or the Gurjar community," producers' counsel stated.

Kamal Haasan's Vikram is leading the race in advance bookings and is far up ahead against Samrat Prithviraj and Major. All three films will release on June 3.

Samrat Prithviraj has been mired in controversy ever since the project on the warrior Rajput King was announced. Now, it is finally set to release in cinema halls on June 3.
