Laxmmi Bomb is a Hindi remake of director Raghava Lawrence's Tamil film Kanchana. While earlier it was said to be titled Kanchana in Hindi as well, the makers changed it to Laxmmi Bomb. Recently, Raghava Lawrence revealed why the film's title was changed from the original title 'Kanchana' and said that the film is a firecracker and needs to resonate with the Hindi audience.

Former beauty queen and Bollywood debutante Manushi Chillar says she was excited to be on a film sets with superstar Akshay Kumar.

Aamir Khan is the latest Bollywood star to demand a theatrical release for "Laxmmi Bomb", which is all set to release on an OTT platform. Earlier, actresses Taapsee Pannu and Meera Chopra had tweeted to Akshay Kumar expressing their desire to watch the horror comedy in theatres.

After the opening of cinema halls, Ranveer Singh’s 83 to release during Christmas. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi’s release has been postponed to next year.

As per a source, Akshay has started shooting on October 10 for the film, and the schedule is an intense one.

The horror-comedy 'Laxmmi Bomb' sees Akshay Kumar’s character being possessed by the spirit of a transgender person who is out to seek revenge. The makers got a surprise as the trailer of Laxmmi Bomb becomes the most viewed movie trailer in India in just 24 hours with 70 million views. Not just this, but the horror-comedy received a positive response from transgender rights activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi.

Pulkit Sharma's tweet came in response to an earlier tweet by Akshay, where the superstar shared the trailer of the horror comedy. In the trailer, there is a scene where Akshay's character says that he will wear bangles if he comes face to face with ghosts someday. Pulkit's tweet is inspired by the dialogue.

Earlier the same day, Taapsee had tweeted her sentiments shortly after Akshay posted the trailer of the upcoming horror comedy on his Twitter account. Reacting to the trailer, Taapsee tweeted: "You have KILLED IT n how!!!! I'm actually disappointed I'm not gonna watch it in theatres!"

Co-starring Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, and Ashwini Kalsekar, Laxmmi Bomb is a horror-comedy and the trailer is proof enough that viewers will roll on the floor laughing. 

In the horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb, Akshay Kumar in seen as transgender. Talking about his role, the actor had said, "In 30 years, this is the most mentally intensive role. Never experienced it before." Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the original Tamil film, also directs the Bollywood remake, co-starring Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

Superstar Akshay Kumar is an early riser, and he makes sure his co-stars, too, adapt that aspect of his lifestyle while working with him. Actor Rana Daggubati, who has worked with Akshay in "Baby" and "Housefull 4", recently recalled how the latter took him to attend a radio interview at 5:45 am!

Akshay Kumar took to his social media to share the teaser of his upcoming film Bell Bottom. The film's plot seems to be set in the 80s where the actor will be seen playing the role of a RAW agent.

Akshay Kumar said that while the drug issue is very much prevalent in the Bollywood industry, it is not right to blame the entire movie industry. Requesting sensitivity and suppor, Akshay Kumar says "not everyone is involved".

"Mission accomplished! After a long but fruitful schedule, grateful to have shot and completed #Bellbottom during the pandemic ! Now its time to head back #JetSetGo," Akshay Kumar tweeted on Friday.

Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty, was originally scheduled to release on March 24 and Kabir Khan-helmed "83" was set to hit the cinema houses on April 10.

Bell Bottom has become the first film in the world to start and finish its shooting during the pandemic. Akshay Kumar dubbed the success as "teamwork," and said that he is grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew. "The new normal has made us realise a different way of working that none of us could have imagined.," he said. 

In India, Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb is set for a direct-to-digital release on November 9 on Disney+ Hotstar. Laxmmi Bomb also stars Kiara Advani in a lead role.

Akshay posted an Instagram picture featuring his wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav, who are currently with him in the UK, along with the cast and crew of the film.
