Bangalore, Jun 26 : Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will face a twin political attack from JDS tomorrow with former Prime Minister H D Devegowda set to stage a dharna in front of his house and party state president H D Kumaraswamy embarking upon “dharma yatra” to Dharmasthala.
Kumaraswamy, former Chief Minister, began his journey to Dharmasthala Manjunatha temple by offering pooja at Chamundeswari temple in Ramanagara, part of his Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha seat.
Addressing a gathering at Ramanagara, his erstwhile assembly constituency, Kumaraswamy said he was on his dharma yatra against what he called the “corrupt” Yeddyurappa regime.
He said he would address roadside meeting at various places before reaching Dharmasthala, where he would swear by truth that Yeddyurappa made efforts to strike a compromise with him to end political hostilities between the two, after they exposed each other over acts of corruption and nepotism.
Kumaraswamy, who has been emboldened after Yeddyurappa withdrew from his challenge of “testifying truth” before Lord Manjunatha, said he would swear by God that uttering “whatever I said was true. I swear by truth.”
Devegowda, father of Kumaraswamy, will stage a dharna in front of official residence of Yeddyurappa tomorrow to protest against non-release of funds for development works in his Lok Sabha constituency.
Yeddyurappa, who had been ridiculed by Kumaraswamy for retracting on his challenge of “truth oath”, is leaving for Dharmasthala by train from here. Yeddyurappa will visit the temple and offer pooja.
Yeddyurappa has said there would be no face off between him and Kumaraswamy tomorrow at Dharamasthala. PTI
