Fatehpur: Union Minister of State for Human Resources Ramshankar Katheria on Saturday alleged that Noida Authority official Yadav Singh, accused of amassing illegal wealth, "enjoys the blessings" of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"Yadav Singh has the blessings of Mulayam Singh Yadav," Katheria told reporters here to a question on why the UP government has not yet taken any action against Singh despite IT raids being carried out at his house resulting in recovery of massive wealth.

The UP government has not taken any action against Singh and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has maintained that action will be taken as per the report of the IT department and Enforcement Directorate.

On the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the Union minister said,"Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh can take place anytime."

Katheria was here to take part in a seminar on death anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.

He said,"Ambedkar is held in high esteem by everyone but BSP chief Mayawati has shown disrespect by installing her own statue besides his."

To a question on the ongoing stalemate in Parliament over local MP and Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's controversial statement, Katheria said,"Opposition has no issue that is why they are not allowing the precious time of the House to be used in peoples interest."

"After she apologised for her statement and Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the House to pardon her, the continued opposition is not in peoples interest.. The time which needed to be used on development issues is not being used by the opposition parties for the welfare of people," he said.
