Hyderabad: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday asked the Samaikya Andhra Joint Action Committee to write a letter to the Centre demanding that Andhra Pradesh be kept united and said he would be the first signatory to it.
In his first public address after his release from jail five days ago, Jagan told lawyers from Seemaandhra region that the state would remain united only if all fought for it together.
“Like a father, the Centre should do justice to everyone in case of a division. If you can't do justice, maintain the status quo,” he added.
He was critical of Congress and Telugu Desam Party on the state's bifurcation issue alleging the ruling party was interested only in “votes and seats” while the main opposition was seeking to protect its base.
