Jaipur: Attacking the BJP government for failing to provide security to women, Rajasthan Mahila Congress today said it will send a seven-membered team to Thuravad village in Rajsamand tomorrow to prepare a report on the incident where a woman was allegedly paraded half-naked.

“The incident was insulting and shameful to the entire state where a woman Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is ruling for the last 11 months,” state Mahila Congress President Shankuntla Rawat told a press conference here.

A team of Mahila Congress comprising seven members would go the village Thuravad tomorrow to collect facts and prepare a report, Rawat said.

A delegation of Mahila Congress would also submit a memorandum to the governor after holding protest-cum-demonstration on the deteriorating law and order situation and atrocities against women, highlighting rape cases in the state capital in near future, she said.

The Mahila Congress also demanded that the station in-charge of Thuravad should be sacked as he failed to control the situation in the village.

Upon being asked whether the party would take this up as an election issue in civic bodies' polls, she said such an incident should not be a matter of politics, but the party would carry a message on the law and order situation of the state, which has turned to be the worst in the last 11 months.

It was the state government's police administration which should be held responsible for the entire episode of insult and torture of the woman on suspicion of the alleged murder, she said.

On November 8, a 45-year-old woman was allegedly paraded half-naked on a donkey by some Panchayat members at Thuravad village on the suspicion of being involved in a murder case.
