Q: So you please tell the truth!
Renuka: Our policy is very clear. Whenever any charges of any illegality is leveled against any person ,he will have to go. It applies to everybody. We have not spared anybody. Why do you talk about only these two? Even Rahulji said at the meeting of party spokespersons that we'll maintain decorum and decency irrespective of the foul language being used by our opponents.
Q: You are talking about decorum and decency but some of your senior leaders have used indecent language against Narendra Modi and Swami Ramdev.
Renuka: I'm really surprised. Nowadays, many leaders cutting across party lines, are crossing the line of decency. We are setting a new standard where there is no place for decency. That's why Rahul ji said that we should not cross the line of decency even if our opponents do it. We should avoid that.
Q: So you agree that your party leaders should not use this kind of language against anybody, not even against Narendra Modi.
Renuka: That is not our party philosophy. We don't use derogatory language against anyone. Why give special status to Modi? This applies for everybody.
Q: There are reports that IB has stopped giving alerts on terror and this has happened because of the Ishrat Jahan case in which CBI and IB are at loggerheads. How do you look at the security implications of this conflict between CBI and IB in Isharat jahan case?
Renuka: With changing times, technology, connectivity and RTI, new systems come into being. New churnings take place. It's a process of evolution. But nowhere will we compromise with national security. That is the one thing that is not negotiable for the Congress. We will not allow any deficiency on national security front even if it cost our lives. This is our aim and has been reiterated a number of times by Sonia ji and Rahul ji.
