New Delhi: In an open threat to the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, Trinamool Congress MP from Basirhat, Idris Ali, has said that West Bengal will burn if the CBI makes any attempt to frame Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam.
"If anybody touches Mamata, Bengal will burn," the TMC MP said.
The TMC MP had made the statement during a public rally on Tuesday.
The Saradha scam brought a huge embarrassment to Mamata after TMC MP Kunal Ghosh, Madan Mitra and many other top leaders got arrested for their alleged link to the scam.
Suspended TMC leader Kunal Ghosh had earlier made serious allegations that it was Mamata Banerjee who was the biggest beneficiary of the scam.
Recently, the CBI had arrested West Bengal Transport Minister and Mamata's close aide Madan Mitra in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the central probe agency is mulling to summon another TMC MP, Satabdi Roy, for interrogation in this case.
