New Delhi: AVAM, a splinter group of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Thursday said it stood by its claim about an NRI giving donation to Aam Aadmi Party.
In a press conference, AVAM said Jaskirat Kaur Mann made donations to the AAP through two cheques in December – the first cheque for CANADIAN $1000- DRAWN from Royal Bank of Canada- was purportedly issued from Gagan Blueberry Growers and was given to the AAP by Mann. The second cheques was also drawn from the same bank - was purportedly issued by Devinder Samra and allegedly given to the party by Mann.
“The four cheques that we had shown were from our sources. A Canadian citizen gave it to Jaskirat who in turn gave it to the AAP. This is a matter of ‘Hawala'.
He said that Jaskirat Mann, the NRI has already confessed that she did donate to the party.
However Jaskirat Kaur Mann, while refuting the claim of AVAM, accused it of spreading wrong information among media about her donation to the Aam Aadmi Party.
“Apparent that these people are running s personal vendetta against AAP…I have my bank statement, but they did not bother to cross check basic facts” said Mann.” She even threatened to issue legal notice to AVAM.
On being asked AVAM said we have got no notice. We stand by whatever we have said.”
