New Delhi, Aug 4: Senior Team Anna member Kiran Bedi today said that the proposed party to be floated by Team Anna will have its own watchdogs to keep vigil over the party's elected candidates.

Replying to questions from Rajat Sharma in India TV's show Aap Ki Adalat, Kiran Bedi said, Anna Hazare has taken a right decision not to be a member of our party.

"He and several others will act as watchdogs and keep vigil over our elected candidates. We need our own Lokpal to keep vigil on our party", said Bedi.

Anna Hazare had told his supporters at Jantar Mantar that he would play the role of watchdog by "pulling up the ear" of party leaders who stray from the right path.

When Rajat Sharma asked Bedi, whether she was sure her party candidates woul be able to defeat Sonia Gandhi in Rae Bareli and Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, she said: "It's the people who will defeat them, whether it be Soniaji, or Rahul or Chidambaram".

When Rajat Sharma asked how her proposed party will be able to fight money power without any financial support, Bedi said, it's the people who will contribute to this party.

"Just wait for ten days, after our Team Anna members recuperate after a 10-day fast, and then you will see how fast things will move", Bedi said.

Asked why Team Anna took a U-turn from its initial stand of not going into politics, Bedi said, it was because of the "arrogance and indifference" of the ruling party.

"The recent 10-day fast has taught us a lesson. We have to go into politics to fight the corrupt politicians politically, since there was no other alternative", said Bedi.

Kiran Bedi reminded that the Jan Lokpal agitation was initially started by only two persons - Arvind Kejriwal and she herself.

"When we saw that the government was not taking action against CWG organising committee chief Suresh Kalmadi despite blatant corrupt activities, both of us decided to hold a press conference, and then we came up with our demand for Jan Lokpal at a meeting at Ramlila Maidan.

'We never knew what course the agitation would take, and look at where it has reached today. Similarly, our political party will be catalyst for change. India's future can never be secured without police reforms, judicial reforms, administrative reforms and political reforms", said India's first female IPS officer.

Aap Ki Adalat with Kiran Bedi will be telecast on India TV on Saturday (Aug 4) at 10 pm and on Sunday (Aug 5) at 10 am and 10 pm.
