New Delhi: On the last day of campaigning, BJP's Kiran Bedi today sought to compare her administrative experience to that of Arvind Kejriwal's as IRS, saying she had put in 40 years of services while the AAP chief was a “deserter” with “insignificant” tenure.
“I have 40 years of administrative experience and that other man (Kejriwal) who is spreading lies has just five years of experience. He is ‘bhagoda' and will run away again,” Bedi said while campaigning in Kirari constituency of North-West Delhi here.
Addressing a gathering here, the BJP's chief ministerial candidate asked the voters to not to pay heed to negative rumours about her.
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, on the other hand, attacked BJP saying it's their “religion” to attack others and like Duryodhana of Mahabharat the entire administrative apparatus was with it, while the nascent AAP had God (Sri Krishna) on its side.
Kejriwal started his campaign from Mandir Marg in New Delhi constituency today and said he was getting amazing response.
“Just amazing response. Unbelievable. Kuch adbhut hi ho raha hai. Its all divine,” he wrote on twitter.
The AAP chief, who will cover a total of 25 places in the constituency, also exuded hope of winning the elections saying the party was “following the path of truth”.
“God is with us because we are following the path of truth. It's the BJP's ‘dharam' to attack others,” he said.
On the other hand, in a final push to woo the voters on the last day of campaigning, BJP MPs and Union ministers are holding at least one rally in each of the 70 constituencies in the national capital.
Candidates of the political parties and other leaders can campaign till 6 PM tomorrow, 48 hours before the polling day on February 7.
“Union Ministers and party's MPs have been asked to hold at least one rally in the 70 Assembly constituencies each so that people can also be wooed by the party at the last moment,” said a senior BJP leader.
Party president Amit Shah had said that the BJP was in direct fight with Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party in this Assembly elections.
He also said the party would win Delhi polls as there was the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and work done by his government.
More than 1.20 lakh booth incharge and ‘panna pramukhs' have been roped in to campaign and apprise people about BJP's plans for the city, he said.
Meanwhile, the AAP-BJP bitter spat saw the Aam Aadmi Party today accusing the saffron party of trying to “buy votes” ahead of February 7 Assembly polls by distributing money and free liquor.
“We have information that BJP is distributing money, liquor and non-vegetarian food to the public and they are also seizing voter identity cards of poor,” AAP leader Ashutosh alleged.
“We also have information that they are trying to traumatise and threaten these voters that if they vote for AAP, they will have to bear the consequences later,” he told reporters.
