Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babu Lal Gaur on Monday rejected demands for a CBI probe into the deaths of those allegedly involved in Vyapam scam.

This came a day after two more accused in the case were found dead under mysterious circumstances.

He also claimed that these deaths have no connection to the Vyapam scam.

"One who has come will eventually go. The prisoners die daily because of illness. There is no need for a CBI enquiry," Gaur said.

Narendra Singh Tomar, an accused in the high-profile MPPEB scam, died under mysterious circumstances in an Indore jail, adding another murky chapter to the scandal.

29-year-old Tomar, a veterinarian, complained of chest pain Saturday and was rushed to Maharaja Yashwant Rao Hospital where he was declared brought dead, official sources said on Sunday.

So far, nearly 40 people including former Governor Ram Naresh Yadav's son involved in the case, accused as well as witnesses, have died.

Several politicians including former Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma have been arrested in the case.

Congress members had in the past met Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the Centre's intervention in the Vyapam scam.

The Vyapam Scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), which holds exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments.

Candidates allegedly bribed government officials to ensure that they made it to the list of those who cleared the test.
