New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today urged people of Delhi to elect the BJP to power to carry forward its agenda of development, women safety and for addressing the issue of security in the national capital.
Addressing a poll rally at railway colony in Tuglakabad constituency, Swaraj said a lot needs to be done to control corruption, inflation and to ensure security of women and it can only be done by the BJP.
She said this would be realised only when leaders pay more attention to their responsibilities than making promises and to ensure the same BJP has put forward people like Vikram Bidhuri, the party candidate from Tughlakabad.
Swaraj, who returned from China yesterday, came out in support of Bidhuri. She also lauded the efforts of three-time MLA and incumbent MP from South Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri and said a lot of work has been done in Tuglakabad constituency, a BJP stronghold.
Her visit drew a big crowd who had come out to see her. The local candidate Vikram Bidhuri said his agenda includes lower rates for electricity, self-employment for youth and one lakh houses every year through DDA, besides constructing toilets for slum dwellers.
He also promised to construct a 20 to 50 bedded hospital in Tuglakabad, besides foot-over bridges in Harkesh nagar and Teharkhand, on the lines of Kalkaji extension and a community center in Prahladpur wards.
