Meerut: Veteran BJP leader L K Advani on Monday said Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had played an important role in advancement of BJP and the country's politics.
Addressing an event organised to mark the birth centenary of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at Chaudhary Charan Singh University here, the former deputy prime minister said he cried when he heard about death of Upadhyaya.
He said he benefited greatly from his association with Upadhyaya.
Upadhyaya played an important role in BJP's rise to today's position and that his contributions to the country's politics cannot be compared with anyone else.
