New Delhi: Union cabinet has approved the imposition of President's rule in Maharashtra.
It means that elections for state assembly will be held under President's rule .
It should be recalled that Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had resigned from CM post after its alliance partner Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) walked off the alliance because of differences over seat sharing for upcoming assembly elections.
The state is going to polls on October 15, 2014. Counting will be held on October 19.
Today being the last day for filing nominations, candidates of all parties rushed to file their nominations today.
It's going to be a four-cornered contest in upcoming state elections as all four important players Congress, BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP will be contesting separately in these elections.
