Lucknow, Feb 28: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today termed the union budget as a "disappointment" for the common people and accused the Centre of ignoring problems of unemployment, inflation and regional imbalances.
"The budget, which is directionless, will not help in solving serious problems like poverty, inflation, unemployment and regional imbalances," Mayawati said in a statement here."The budget will widen the gap between the poor and the rich," she added.
The BSP supremo alleged that lives of people, who are already facing the problem of inflation, would become more difficult.She said that the poor state of education sector cannot improve only by hiking budgetary provisions and that policy reforms were needed for its uplift.Mayawati alleged that nothing has been done to address the problem of "massive" unemployment in the country.
"By withdrawing special facility of relief to women,the Centre has proved that it is anti-women," she alleged.She accused the Centre of "fooling" people in the name of 'Bharat Nirman'. PTI
