Mumbai: Congress MLA Nitesh Rane on Tuesday said that Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray was completely clueless as to the future course for his party.
"Uddhav Thackeray has no idea which side he is on and why is he on that side. He does not know where he has to take his party in future. He is completely at sea," he told reporters. As it is still uncertain whether Sena would become a part of the BJP-led government in Maharashtra in future, Nitesh said Sena had reduced itself to a position where it had no choice.
"Shiv Sena is today in a position where it will take whatever is offered. It does not really matter if they are given Leader of Opposition status or a share in the new government," he said.
"If the president of a party himself does not know about the status of his party, what will the party do in future and how will it be able to fight for the people of Maharashtra? If he does not revive his party soon, he will become a joke," said Nitesh, a first-time MLA from Kankavli.
Nitesh's father, Narayan Rane, a former Shiv Sena leader who is now a bitter critic of Uddhav Thackeray, is now a senior Congress leader.
