New Delhi: CPI(M) on Monday accused Trinamool Congress of "opening the doors" of West Bengal to BJP by pandering to minority fundamentalism.
"The growing BJP menace in West Bengal is a direct contribution of Trinamool Congress. She (Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee) is the one who opened the doors to allow BJP to enter Bengal," senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury told PTI here.
His comments came as Banerjee indicated that she was not averse to any talks with the Left to contain the communal forces.
Yechury said "by pandering to minority fundamentalism, she is creating objective conditions for the growth of majority communalism. Both kinds of fundamentalism feed on each other."
Banerjee was here to take part in the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Jawaharlal Nehru, which was also attended by Yechury and Prakash Karat.
