Kolkata, Jan 2: Trinamool Congress has landed in controversy after a few party leaders threw money at female dancers during a function organized to celebrate party's foundation day.
The function was organized in Bhangore near Kolkata on Tuesday as a part of Trinamool's statewide celebration of 15th foundation day.
The female dancers wore skimpy clothes and some of the party leaders threw money at them.
The incident drew sharp reactions from political parties. Commenting on the incident, CPM leader Mohammad Salim said, "It is very difficult to comment on something like this. Trinamool Congress had said they stand for values. But where is the value? This is the politics they are doing in Bengal. They are devoid of tradition and culture."
