Omar Abdullah
The incumbent Chief Minister hails from J&K's most prominent political families. He is the son of Farooq Abdullah and grand son of Sheikh Abdullah, the founder of National Conference (NC) in Kashmir.
On 5th January 2009, he was elected as the 11th and youngest CM's of Jammu and Kashmir.
He was Union Minister of State for External affairs in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's NDA government, from 23rd July 2001 to 23rd December 2002.
Omar joined politics in 1998, as a Lok Sabha member, a feat he repeated in subsequent three elections.
