4. Narayan Dutt Tiwari-Ujjwala Sharma
N D Tiwari's case is very interesting. Known as a colourful politician from Uttarakhand with a glad eye for ladies, Tiwari's name was connected with several women.
In 1960s , he got very close to Ujjwala Sharma, the daughter of an influential Congress leader the late Sher Singh, a minister in Indira Gandhi's cabinet. Ujjwala bore a child to ND Tiwari but he parted ways with Ujjwala and did not give the child his name.
In 2008, the son Rohit Shekhar filed a paternity suit claiming Tiwari to be his biological father. The court asked for DNA mapping of Tiwari.
The DNA test results released by the court in 2012 established that Tiwari is the biological father of Rohit Shekhar, and that Ujjwala Sharma is the biological mother.
Later, N D Tiwari finally accepted that Rohit was his son as well as his political heir.
5. Shashi Tharoor-Sunanda Pushkar
Union minister Shashi Tharoor caught the headlines when his relationship with Sunanda Pushkar came into limelight. Shashi Tharoor was accused of helping Sunanda get sweat equity in one of the IPL franchises in Kochi.
Tharoor had to resign and he married Sunanda later on. Tharoor was reinstated as minister at the Centre. Unfortunately, Sunanda was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a South Delhi hotel. It was said that she died of overdose of sleeping pills, but the mystery remains.
The couple was one of the most charming political couples of India. They were always seen admiring each other publically.
