This movie gives an account of a corrupt politician and rotates around the world of media. Stars like Amitabh Bacchan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Gul Panag played important roles. Paresh Rawal played negative role.
Rann is also a product of Ram Gopal Verma.
Before its release, the film was involved in a controversy with the title song which was inspired by the National Anthem. This song was replaced by Vande Mataram.
