On the basis of Google Trends, Narendra Modi is widely searched in Goa, followed by Jharkhand, then Uttarakhand and Assam. In case of Google images too Narendra Modi ranks no.1. His photos are searched on Google to a large extent.2. Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi proved to be a failure for the Congress party in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, but he too has a profound fan-following on the social media. ‘Pappu', as the social sites love to refer him as, ranks no. 2 on Google. Rahul Gandhi is not a tech savvy himself. Nor does he use internet as a medium to interact with the masses. Rahul prefers one on one interaction with his people. However, #Rahulfans has time and again tried to build his image. Rahul is often mocked by pro-BJP twitter and FB users. Some trending hashtags for the Congress Vice President include: #rahulcatnap and #rahulwakesup. Gandhi ranks second even in google images perhaps for his good looks. Rahul Gandhi currently represents Amethi Lok Sabha constituency. As per Google records, he is most widely searched for in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.3. However, it was social media that helped him climb the ladder of success in politics. Kejriwal ranks 3rd in the most googled Indian politicians. His popularity graph has shown a sharp decline over the past few months. Only last year, Kejriwal was even more popular than Narendra Modi. After Kejriwal stepped down as the Chief Minister of Delhi on 14th Feb, his fans were mightily disappointed and many lost interest in his agenda. Jayalalithaa is most widely searched for in Tamil Nadu, followed by Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. She is most popular amongst female politicians. Jaya is just a notch below Sonia Gandhi and ranks fourth in google images. Jayalalithaa is one of the most respected politicians.6. Sonia Gandhi The BJP says ‘India needs to do away with the Gandhi family'. Arun Jaitley An excellent strategist, incumbent Finance and Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley is a fierce orator and lawyer. He displays his skills efficiently on social media sites too. Jaitley is active on Twitter and Facebook. Arun Jaitley is most popular in Delhi, followed by Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and then Tamil Nadu. He is not as popular as far as google images are concerned. Arun Jaitley is a Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat. He contested Lok Sabha Elections from Amritsar constituency. Here too, he actively led a campaign on social media too. However he was defeated by Amrinder Singh of the Congress party. 9. Sushma Swaraj Sushma Swaraj is another BJP leader who has found place in the list of most googled Indian politicians. Currently she is part of PM Modi's core team in the cabinet as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sushma Swaraj is most widely searched on google from Delhi, followed by Karnataka, Maharashtra and then Tamil Nadu. Swaraj is not as popular on Google images. Sushma Swaraj herself is quite active on Social media (Facebook and Twitter). 10. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Daughter of Sonia Gandhi and younger sibling to Rahul, Priyanka does not actively participate in the Congress party's day to day affairs. Yet her appearances always attract much attention. Priyanka somewhat resembles her Grandmother – Indira Gandhi. So a person bearing the characteristics of the Iron lady of India (Indira) naturally would have a fan following and a bunch of haters. Priyanka actively campaigns for her brother and mother during elections. She is a constant support for the Congress party.
