Ranchi: Lalu Prasad has been finally given 5 years jail term in fodder scam by the special CBI court.He has also been asked to pay a fine of Rs. 25 lakh.Former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra has also been given a jail term of 4 years by the special CBI court in this case.Following is the timeline of Bihar-Jharkhand's infamous fodder scam in which two former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra have been convicted and sentenced to 5 years and 4 years jail term respectively:January 27, 1996: Scam surfaces. Crores of money from govt treasury given to non-existent companies for supply of fodder in faraway districts like Chaibasa. Sept 30, 2013: Special Judge Pravas Kumar Singh to deliver verdict. Lalu arrives in Ranchi.Sept 30, 2013: Special Judge Pravas Kumar Singh convicts Lalu Prasad, Jagannath Mishra and 43 others in fodder scam. Lalu Prasad and other convicts taken to Birsa Munda jail in Ranchi. Sentencing on October 3.Oct 03, 2013: Lalu Prasad gets 5 years jail term and Rs 25 lakh fine in this case.
