Presently four members of the Yadav family represent the Samajwadi party in the Parliament. Mulayam Singh himself, his daughter-in-law Dimple, his nephews – Akshay and Dharmendra Yadav.
Now if Tej Pratap does win the elections, he will be the fifth member.
Tej Pratap Yadav was first introduced to the public in the Safai Mahotsav in 2013. Mulayam Singh himself had formally introduced him. Prior to this he had been involved in Samajwadi Party's campaigns in Mainpuri and Etawah.
He had contributed tirelessly toward his Uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav's victory from Jaswantnagar assembly constituency in 2007. Shivpal Singh Yadav served as the Leader of Opposition in UP assembly from 2007-2009.
